How do I schedule care for my pet?

Will I receive updates during the scheduled visit?
Yes, we provide updates for all scheduled services, including photos/video and a summary of the visit so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is well cared for.
Can you care for multiple pets during a scheduled visit?
Yes, we can care for multiple pets in the same household, ensuring each pet gets the attention and care they need within the scheduled time.
Can you care for small and exotic animals?
Yes, we can care for small animals like hamsters, rabbits and birds, as well as exotic pets like reptiles and amphibians. We’ll follow any specific instructions to meet their unique needs, including feeding, habitat cleaning and handling.
Can I get a customized care plan for my pet?
Yes, we’re happy to develop a customized care plan for your pet. For instance, we can provide 24-hour care or extended care during an overnight stay. If our existing services don’t meet your requirements, we will create a custom solution just for you.
What if my pet has an emergency during a scheduled visit?
In the rare event of an emergency, we will contact you immediately and follow your provided emergency instructions. If necessary, we will transport your pet to your preferred veterinarian or the nearest emergency clinic.
How will you access my residence?
We do not keep keys on file. To access your residence, we kindly ask you to provide a door code, garage code, hidden key location or lock box. This ensures safe, convenient and secure access during our visits.
Are you certified in pet first aid?
Yes, we are certified in pet first aid and CPR. Our team is trained to handle emergencies, ensuring your pet receives immediate care in case of an accident or health issue.
Do you have insurance?
We are fully insured to provide you with peace of mind. Insurance protects both your pets and property, ensuring that unexpected incidents are covered.

What is a meet and greet?
A meet and greet is a complimentary service where we visit your home to meet you and your pets, discuss their care needs and go over our services to ensure a perfect fit. A meet and greet is required before scheduling services. If additional Meet and Greet visits are needed, they are available at a rate of $25 per visit.
How long does a Meet and Greet typically last?
Our Meet and Greet visits usually last 30 minutes to 1 hour, giving us plenty of time to get acquainted with your pets and answer any questions you may have.
Do I need to have anything prepared for the Meet and Greet?
It's helpful to have your pet's routine, feeding instructions and any special care requirements ready to discuss. You may also want to decide how you would like to provide access to your home. We do not keep keys on file and have a key exchange service available if you don't have a door code, garage code, hidden key location or lock box.
Will my pet be introduced to the caregiver during the Meet and Greet?
Yes! This is a great opportunity for your pet to meet the caregiver, helping them feel more comfortable and familiar with the person who will be caring for them.
What if my pet has special needs or behaviors?
We’ll take time during the Meet and Greet to discuss any special needs, medical conditions, or behavioral quirks your pet may have so we can customize our care to suit them.
What happens after the Meet and Greet?
After the Meet and Greet, we will confirm your booking and finalize any necessary details, ensuring that we’re fully prepared to provide the best possible care for your pet.
What if I decide not to use the service after the Meet and Greet?
There’s no obligation to book our services after the Meet and Greet. It’s simply an opportunity for you and your pet to meet the caregiver and determine if it’s the right fit.

What is a drop-in visit?
A drop-in visit is a short, scheduled visit where we come to your home to care for your pet while you're away. Services typically include feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, walks, litter box cleaning and playtime.
How long does a drop-in visit last?
Our standard drop-in visits last 30 minutes, 45 minutes or 1 hour. You can select the duration based on your pet's specific needs and routine.
Can I book multiple drop-in visits per day?
Yes, you can schedule multiple drop-in visits throughout the day to ensure your pet receives consistent care, attention and bathroom breaks. This option is available within our designated service area, ensuring we can provide timely and reliable care for your pet. For those outside our service area, we offer pet sitting services as an alternative to ensure your pet still receives the care they need.
What services are included in a drop-in visit?
During a drop-in visit, we offer feeding, fresh water, bathroom breaks (or litter box cleaning), walks for dogs, playtime, administering medication and any other specific care your pet may require. We also provide care for small animals and exotic pets, such as cage cleaning, habitat maintenance and handling for reptiles and other unique species, ensuring all pets are well-cared for based on their specific needs.
Can a drop-in visit include a walk for my dog?
Absolutely! For dog parents, drop-in visits can include a walk, along with feeding, fresh water and any other care your dog needs during the visit.

Drop-in visits are shorter and typically last 30-60 minutes, whereas pet sitting provides extended care, usually lasting a few hours to a full day depending on your needs.
What is the minimum amount of time for a pet sitting booking?
Our pet sitting service requires a minimum of two hours, ensuring your pet gets the care, attention and companionship they need.
What services are included in pet sitting?
Pet sitting includes feeding, fresh water, bathroom breaks, walks for dogs, playtime, administering medications, litter box cleaning for cats, and small/exotic animal care. We also offer additional services such as light household duties like plant watering or bringing in the mail.
Overnight Stay FAQs
What is an overnight stay?
An overnight stay involves a caregiver staying in your home with your pets overnight to provide them with continuous care, companionship and attention throughout the night and into the morning. If you book multiple overnight stays, daytime care is also included, ensuring your pets receive consistent care and attention during your absence.
How long does an overnight stay last?
Our overnight stay service includes 15 hours of in-home care, ensuring your pets receive plenty of attention and companionship. Pets are not left alone for more than 6 hours at a time.
What services are included in an overnight stay?
Overnight stays include feeding, fresh water, bathroom breaks, walks for dogs, litter box cleaning for cats, playtime, administering medications and any other specific care your pets may need. We can also perform light household tasks, such as watering plants or bringing in the mail.
Will my pet be left alone during the overnight stay?
Our overnight stay service ensures that your pet will not be left alone during the agreed hours. However, if additional daytime care is needed outside of the 15 hours of in-home care, you can book drop-in or daytime pet sitting services in addition to the overnight stay.
How should I prepare for an overnight stay?
The following will help ensure a smooth and stress-free experience for both you and your pet.
Pet Supplies
Provide enough food, treats and medication (if needed) for the entire duration of the stay. Include any special instructions for feeding or medication.
Comfort Items
Make sure your pet’s bedding, favorite toys and any comfort items are available to help them feel at ease.
Access Instructions
Ensure the caregiver has easy access to your home, including keys, alarm codes, gate codes or lockbox information.
House Rules
Provide any important guidelines for the caregiver regarding your home, such as whether pets are allowed on the bed or furniture.

Policy FAQs
How do I pay for services?
You can pay for services directly through our website. We kindly accept a variety of payment options, such as credit card, debit card, PayPal, Venmo, ApplePay, MetaPay, AmazonPay and GooglePay. We also accept Zelle. Please use hello@mochipawspetcare.com for Zelle payments.
When is payment due?
Payment is due at the time of booking to secure your reservation and guarantee your spot.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
We understand that plans can change. Please provide as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule. Our cancellation policy will apply, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your new schedule.
What is your cancellation policy?
Single Visits or One-Time Reservations
The full service fee will be charged for cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance.
Multiple Visits or Extended Vacation Reservations
A 50% cancellation fee will apply for cancellations made within 7 days of a standard reservation or within 14 days of a holiday reservation.
These policies help us accommodate all clients fairly, as multiple visit bookings often require us to turn down other requests. We appreciate your understanding.
How are payment processing fees handled in your cancellation policy?
As a business, we incur non-refundable payment processing fees for all payment methods except Zelle. Unfortunately, we are unable to absorb these costs for cancellations. If you’d like to ensure a refund for the full amount, we encourage you to use Zelle for your payment.
Will I be charged for the full reservation if I return home early?
Yes, the full service fee will be charged for the reservation if you return home early. The majority of our clients typically book their services 1 to 4 weeks in advance. When you reserve a spot, we dedicate that time exclusively to your pet and have to turn down other clients who request the same dates. We appreciate your understanding of our commitment to fairness and availability for everyone.
Does my pet need to be vaccinated to use your services?
Yes, for the safety and well-being of all pets in our care, we require that your pet be up-to-date on their vaccinations. Required vaccinations include:
- Rabies
- DAPP (Distemper, Adenovirus Types 1 and 2, Parainfluenza and Parvo)
- Bordatella (kennel cough)
